At the University of Arkansas, the “voice of the university” offered “something for everyone from public affairs programs to radio drama to musical fare for particular tastes.” Having debuted in 1973, staffers expanded programming in new directions. The university’s president hosted a weekly show during which he engaged with student media and leaders of various student activities. The station programmed classical music, but the daily schedule remained dominated by “progressive rock.”
